Makris Gialos beach

At a very near distance from the capital of Kefalonia, Argostoli, lies the beach Makris Gialos.

True to its name this is a long beach, sandy without pebbles or rocks and clear waters.
The beach has a beach bar, restaurant and provides the opportunity to do water sports.

Platis Gialos Beach

The natural extension of Makrigialos are Platis Gialos, which are separated only by a few rocks.

This results in that they can pass from one beach to another, either by walking or swimming.

Agia Kiriaki & Boutes

2 km. from the village of Agonas is the beach of Agia Kyriaki with turquoise waters. The beach is sandy, very near is a canteen and there are fish restaurants and catering facilities in the area.

On the beach of Agia Kyriaki will go either to the Agonas village or the village of Zola, there are relevant signs. The beach is 18 km. from Argostoli.
Right of Agia Kyriaki beach is another beautiful beach, Boutes being accessed by Zola village with relatively good gravel road.

Koroni

Near the village Thiramonas shortly after Lourdata you will find the beach of Koroni. The beach is ideal for those who prefer to enjoy a quiet swim in the clear blue waters and play on the golden sand.

The beach is a a refuge of turtle Caretta caretta. It is preferable to be provided with water and food before visiting the beach because they are unorganized.

 

Spartia

Beach with warm and shallow waters make it ideal for families. Rocks that are there attract fishing enthusiasts, and those who like the diving from the rocks. The beach is located two kilometers from the village, next to the small picturesque port.
It is not very organized as the other beaches on the island but it is graphic and you can enjoy your swimming calmly with peace and the traditional taverns waiting for you to try their delicacies.

Minia or Minies

Four kilometers from Argostoli will see a series of three beaches. With crystal clear waters near the airport, beaches preferred by many tourists.

The first is a beach organized where you can enjoy a swim comfortably in the sand together with your children. The other two beaches are quiet but not organized and are preferred by those who dislike the crowds.

 

Klimatsias

A short distance from Spartia village is the Klimatsias beach. This sandy beach surrounded by high cliffs which make it suitable for swimming and for children because not catch the wind.

If you have a boat here is nice place for anchorage to enjoy your holidays calmly on the island. For bathers there is a café and tavern to quench their thirst and satisfy the hunger feeling after games with sand.

Ammes

Nine kilometers from Argostoli near the airport have the chance to swim while watching the airplanes passing above you in very close distance.
The Ammes Beach is an area with organized tourist activity and is the beach preferred by tourists and locals for swimming.

It's shallow sandy beach ideal for families with children. Coffee, food, umbrellas and lounge chairs give a ton of pleasure and comfort.
